SAMA fest in Sweden to host Iran’s ‘A Winner’

The SAMA International Film Festival in Sweden has been set to host Iranian short film ‘A Winner’.

Directed by Mehdi Mahaee, ‘A Winner’ will be among the titles to compete at the International Competition program of the 13th edition of the Swede fest.

This film is about a female filmmaker who is on the verge of divorce, but she realizes something that puts her at a crossroads.

Babak Ansari, Mehrnoush Sattari, Isa Hosseini and Fatemeh Zahra Hosseini are the cast members of the flick.

‘A Winner’ has already been screened at a number of global events, including the Islantilla Cineforum Film Festival in Spain, the Riverside International Film Festival in the US, and the Ischia Film Festival in Italy.

The First Screen Film Distributing Company is in charge of international screenings of ‘A Winner'.

The SAMA International Film Festival aims to display and present the works of filmmakers of Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkey, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries which experience less focus on their works in Nordic festivals.

 The festival also focuses on films by European and American filmmakers about Asia and presents their works of documentaries and long cinematic films.

This year’s edition of the event, also set to screen Iranian feature film ‘Tsunami’ directed by Milad Sadr-Ameli is slated for October 8-9.
